Manali is a spectacular city of Kulu valley of North Himachal in India. This place was residence of Philosopher Manu long back. The name of the city ‘Manali’ comes from his name only. This calm and hilly city covered by Pine and 'Debdaru' Trees and surrounded by snow-clad mountain. Green hilly trees make it a picturesque tourist spot. The enchantment of the birds over the trees adds vitality to the beauty. There is river Bipasa on one side of Manali and on the other side there is river Manalsu. In a full moon lit night it’s a pleasant walk along the river Bipasa. Moonlit drenched Manali poses like a beauty queen. The natural beauty of Manali is incomparable in the world. 

Himalayas knows magic. It is a great scope to know Himalayas better from one of its beauty spot Manali. May-June and October-November are good time to travel to Manali. It is 2050 metre from the sea level. During winter temperature comes down to 0 degree Celsius and during summer highest temperature is around 25 degree Celsius. 

How to go to Manali? 

Manali well connected by road. This place is 40 kilometers north of Kulu valley. National Highway 21 is connecting Kulu and Manali. There is frequent bus service from Kulu. There are daily regular bus service from Shimla, Chandigarh and Jogindarnagar. 

By Air: The nearest airport is at Bhuntar. The airport at Bhuntar is 50 km ( Approx.) from Manali where taxis and buses are available. 

By Rail: The nearest narrow gauge railhead is at Jogindernagar ( 135 km Approx. ). The nearest broad gauge raiheads are at Chandigarh ( 310 km Approx. ), and Ambala ( 355 km Approx. ).The closest narrow guage railhead is at Jogindernagar, 135 km away. The closest broad guage rail heads are Chandigarh (310km Approx.) and Ambala (355 km Approx.). By road the distance from Delhi via Mandi is 585 km Approx., and from Shimla the distance is 270 km. From Shimla, Chandigarh and Delhi, Himachal Tourism plies luxury buses to Manali. 

By Road: The distance from Delhi via Mandi is 585 km Approx., and from Simla the distance is 270 km Approx . From Simla, Chandigarh and Delhi, luxury buses run by Himachal Tourism regularly ply to Manali. 

 


Points of Attraction: 

Hirimba Temple: A temple covered in pine and ‘debdaru’ trees. Historical importance. Situated at the top of the Dhungr hill. Pagoda type temple. 
Dhungri Temple: Other name of Hirimba temple. 
Manali Club House: Good scenic beauty 
Tibetan Monastery: 
Bashist Bath: Hot water spring.
