Digha in West Bengal is a 5 hours drive from Kolkata. It makes an excellent small excursion option from Kolkata. It is best visited in the winter months from November to March.
 
Road: There is regular bus services between Digha and Kolkata. It takes approximately 3 to 4 hr. to reach Digha from Kolkata. C.S.T.C. Express buses ply from Esplanade (Calcutta) from 0630 hours to 1000 hours (Fare Rs.30/-). Luxury buses from West Bengal Tourist Bureau, 3/2 B.B.D.Bagh departs daily at 0700 hours (Fare Rs.40/-).

Route1: Kolkata-Howrah-Mechheda-Norghat-Contai-Ramnagar-Digha(185km)
Route2: Kolkata-Deulti-Kolaghat-Kharagpur-Digha(243 km)
Route3: Tarakeswar-Harinkhola-Arambag-Vishnupur-Kharagpur-Digha(355 km)

Rail: Train is available upto Kharagpur and for the remaining 123km, hire a bus or a taxi. Though Contai Road (37 kms) is the nearest railway station for Digha but Kharagpur and Mechheda on the South-Eastern Railway are the most convenient railheads for Digha from where buses are available which takes 4 hours.

Air: Dumdum airport at Kolkata is the nearest airport which is about 210 kms away from Digha.

Other Transports: Tourist cabs and luxury cars can also be hired from Kolkata.
