Ingredients:
6 c. water
1 1/2 c. splitpeas, washed
1/2 c. chopped onion
3 fresh carrots, sliced
3 stalks celery, chopped
2 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
Direction:
Bring peas to a boil for 3
minutes, reduce heat and simmer until tender, 45 to 50
minutes. Add vegetables and simmer until tender, 15 to 25
minutes. Add water as needed. Remove bay leaf. Puree to
thicken the soup. The children love it!
