Ingredients:
4 med. onions, julienne
4 tbsp. margarine
6 cans beef consomme
3 cans water
2 c. milk
2 tbsp. flour
Salt & pepper
French bread (or Italian)
Mozzarella or Provolone cheese Margarine
Direction:
Saute onions in margarine until
transparent. Add flour and cook until golden. Add consomme and
water. Bring to a boil. Add salt, pepper and milk and simmer
for 20 minutes. Slice bread, lightly buttered on both sides
and bake until very crunchy. Top with cheese and bake until
cheese is melted. Place bread in bowl and top with soup.
