Esther Williams spent her maximum time in swimming; she was ultimately spotted by a MGM talent scout while working in a Los Angeles department store.
Esther made her film debut with MGM in "Andy Hardy" picture called Andy Hardy's Double Life. She became Mickey Rooney's love interest in the movie, and her character was called Sheila Brooks.
Following her water-born antics she went on to star opposite Mickey Rooney in "Double Life" in 1942. Esther was never far away from water and Bathing Beauty.
Esther retired from the movie industry in the 1960s, now a days she occasional attempts on TV work discussing her contribution to the film industry is a treat for her fans from time to time.
