| The painful estrangement from his daughter compelled boxing trainer Frankie Dunn to let himself get close to anyone for a very long
time, meanwhile Maggie Fitzgerald walks into his gym. The constant
struggle in life Maggie was made herself this far on raw talent, unshakable focus and a tremendous force of will. But
what she desired that to have someone's believe in her. While Frankie's
needing was some kind of responsibility-- won over by Maggie's sheer determination, he begrudgingly agrees to take her on.
In turns exasperating and inspiring each other, the two realized that they
could share a common spirit that transcends their pain and loss of their pasts, and they
also found in each other a sense of family they lost long ago. Yet, they both
confronted battle that would demand more heart and courage than any they
