Introduction :
Tater Day Festival is all about celebrating the humble sweet potato, "Tater" is a nickname for potato. This festival was started in the year of 1843. Farmers from the countryside would bring their products to the town square to sell or trade on county court days. One of the things they would bring is sweet potatoes, which grow well in the Southern climate. Now-a-days this festival is highlighted by a large parade with floats, marching bands, and a beauty queen. So spend the day with people you know and love, and make fun and merriment with them on this special day.
