Introduction :
Charlotte Bronte was born in 21st April
1816, in Thornton, Yorkshire, England. In 1838, Charlotte left Roe Head
School and the following year accepted a position as governess in the
Sidgewick family. She left after three months to return to Haworth. In
the year of 1841, she became governess in the White family but left that
position in less than a year, due in part to her nearly crippling
shyness and her inability to relate to normal children.
Her novels Jane Eyre in 1847, Shirley (1849), and Villette (1853)
revolutionized romantic fiction, showing women's indomitable spirit in
the face of hardship and social repression. Charlotte's life was full of
tragedy, never more so than when her brother Branwell and sisters Emily
and Anne died within a few months in year of 1848/49. She married her
father's curate in 1854 but died in 1855, before her fortieth birthday.
However 21st April, is a grate time for celebration of an grate author's
birth day so celebrate the spirit that lives on in her writings and
share those passions of the human heart.
