Introduction :
This
day is famous for Australians. Because on that day Australia was fighting against the Central Powers
Germany, and Turkey. In help of Russia, which was torn
by the Turks in the Caucasus, the Allies decided to started a campaign which they hoped would distract Turkey from their attack on Russia.
This
Day was first celebrated in 1916 with memorial services. Australians make
out 25th April as an occasion of national memorial,
to all those who died in war. So great were the losses at Gallipoli an later on the Western Front during World War I, they impacted heavily on our relatively small populations. Gallipoli, in particular , helped shape both nations and it
therefore holds a special place, even today in the minds of Australians.
